Guardianship Support for International Young Students

Many UK schools ask international students under 18 to have a UK-based guardian: a trusted adult who looks after them outside of term time and stands in for parents who are thousands of miles away. We work with professional guardianship organisations so your child is safe, supported and settled throughout their studies.

Understanding Guardianship

A guardian is a UK-based adult appointed to act for parents who live overseas. They are not a replacement for you. Their role is to be a reliable local presence: attending school meetings when you cannot, arranging somewhere safe to stay when the boarding house closes, and stepping in quickly if your child is unwell or an emergency arises. Educational guardianship is also not the same as legal custody, and parental responsibility stays with you throughout.
