Refund and Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 31 August 2026
This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains the circumstances in which clients may cancel a service or request a refund from IEC Edu Consultancy (“IEC”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
By purchasing our services, paying an invoice or entering into a service agreement with IEC, you agree to this policy together with the terms stated in your service agreement, proposal or invoice.
1. Scope of This Policy
This policy applies to professional services purchased directly from IEC, including:
- Educational consultation and applicant assessment
- School, college and university application support
- Scholarship application support
- Student visa guidance and document preparation
- Guardianship and accommodation assistance
- Examination-preparation courses
- Tutoring, mentoring and training services
- Pre-departure and post-arrival support
- Other educational consultancy services
If a separate written agreement contains specific cancellation or refund terms, those terms will apply alongside this policy. Where there is a conflict, the terms of the signed agreement will normally take priority, subject to applicable consumer law.
2. Cooling-Off Period
Where required by applicable consumer law, a client purchasing services online, by telephone or away from IEC's business premises may cancel the service within 14 days from the date the contract is entered into, without giving a reason.
To exercise this right, the client must send IEC a clear written cancellation request before the end of the cooling-off period.
If the client asks IEC to begin work during the cooling-off period and later cancels, IEC may deduct a reasonable amount for services already delivered and costs properly incurred before receiving the cancellation request.
If the service has been fully completed during the cooling-off period following the client's express request and acknowledgement, the statutory right to cancel may no longer apply, where permitted by law.
3. Cancellation After the Cooling-Off Period
After the applicable cooling-off period has ended, refund eligibility will depend on:
- The terms of the client's service agreement
- The stage reached in delivering the service
- The professional work already completed
- Costs and commitments already incurred
- Applications, registrations or bookings already submitted
- Access already provided to classes, resources or digital materials
A change of mind, change in personal circumstances or decision not to continue does not automatically entitle the client to a full refund.
If part of the purchased service has not yet been delivered, IEC may consider a proportionate refund after deducting the value of work completed, administrative costs, payment-processing charges where legally permitted, and non-recoverable expenses.
4. Application and Consultancy Services
IEC fees compensate the company for professional time, assessment, advice, research, document review, application preparation, communication, case management and related support.
Once work has started, the amount relating to services already performed is non-refundable, subject to the client's statutory rights.
No refund will normally be provided where:
- IEC has completed the agreed assessment or consultation
- An application has been prepared or submitted
- Documents have been reviewed, edited, translated, legalised or processed
- IEC has communicated with an institution, authority or third party on the client's behalf
- The client fails to provide accurate information or required documents
- The client misses a deadline or does not follow the guidance provided
- The client withdraws, becomes unavailable or decides not to proceed
- The application is refused because of academic, financial, immigration, credibility or eligibility requirements
- Circumstances or requirements change after IEC has completed the relevant work
5. Visa and Admission Outcomes
IEC provides professional guidance and application support but cannot guarantee:
- Admission to a particular institution or programme
- Scholarship approval or a particular scholarship amount
- A visa, residence permit or immigration outcome
- An embassy, university or authority appointment
- A particular examination score
- Accommodation availability
- Processing times or decisions made by third parties
A rejection, refusal, delay or unfavourable decision by a university, school, embassy, immigration authority, scholarship provider, examination body or other third party does not, by itself, create a right to a refund.
However, if a written service agreement expressly includes a refund guarantee, IEC will apply the conditions stated in that agreement.
6. Courses, Camps, Tutoring and Training
Unless different terms are stated at the time of booking:
- A cancellation made before a course starts may qualify for a refund, less any work completed and non-recoverable costs.
- After a course has started, any approved refund will normally be calculated according to the undelivered portion of the course.
- Missed classes, late attendance or failure to participate do not qualify for a refund.
- No refund is due for recorded lessons, course materials or digital resources already accessed or downloaded, subject to applicable law.
- IEC may allow a client to transfer to another available course or intake at its discretion.
If IEC cancels a course and cannot offer a suitable replacement, the client will receive a refund for the portion of the course not delivered.
7. Third-Party Fees
Fees paid to third parties are separate from IEC's professional service fees. These may include:
- University or school application fees
- Deposits and tuition fees
- Embassy and visa fees
- Examination registration fees
- Translation, legalisation, apostille and verification fees
- Courier and document-delivery charges
- Insurance, accommodation and guardianship fees
- Banking or payment-provider charges
Third-party fees are subject to the refund rules of the organisation receiving the payment. IEC cannot refund money retained by a third party and is not responsible for a third party's refusal, delay or refund decision.
Where IEC receives a recoverable third-party refund on the client's behalf, it will forward the amount received after deducting any authorised or legally permitted costs.
8. Incorrect or Misleading Information
IEC may suspend or terminate services if a client provides false, incomplete, misleading or fraudulent information or documents.
In such circumstances, fees relating to work already completed and costs already incurred will not be refunded. IEC also reserves the right to comply with any legal or regulatory reporting obligations.
9. Services Not Delivered as Agreed
Clients should notify IEC promptly if they believe a paid service has not been delivered with reasonable care and skill or materially differs from the agreed service.
IEC will review the matter and, where appropriate, may:
- Correct or repeat the affected service
- Provide an alternative service
- Issue a proportionate fee reduction
- Provide a full or partial refund
Nothing in this policy limits any statutory rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
10. How to Request a Cancellation or Refund
All requests must be submitted in writing to:
- Email: info@edu-consultancy.com
- Company: IEC Edu Consultancy (IEC Management Consultants LLC)
- Address: Ground Floor, 57th St, Al Garhoud, Dubai, United Arab Emirates
The request should include:
- The client's full name
- Invoice, receipt or application reference
- The service purchased
- The payment date and amount
- The reason for the request
- Relevant supporting evidence
- The preferred refund payment details, if requested
Submitting a request does not automatically mean that a refund has been approved.
11. Review and Processing
IEC will acknowledge and review refund requests as promptly as reasonably possible. We may ask for additional information before making a decision.
If a refund is approved:
- It will normally be returned using the original payment method.
- It will be made in the original payment currency where reasonably possible.
- Bank, card-provider or currency-conversion delays may apply.
- IEC will process the refund within 14 days after confirming the client's entitlement, unless another period is required or permitted by law.
The amount received may differ because of exchange-rate movements or fees charged independently by banks and payment providers.
12. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
Clients should contact IEC first to allow us a reasonable opportunity to investigate and resolve a payment concern.
Making a false, misleading or unjustified chargeback claim does not remove the client's obligation to pay for services properly delivered. IEC may provide the relevant agreement, invoices, communications and service records to the payment provider when responding to a dispute.
This section does not prevent a client from exercising any lawful right to dispute an unauthorised or incorrect transaction.
13. Changes to This Policy
IEC may update this policy from time to time. Any revised policy will be published on our website with an updated revision date.
Unless required by law, changes will not retrospectively reduce rights already acquired under an existing service agreement.
14. Governing Terms
This policy should be read together with IEC's Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, service agreement and invoice terms.
Nothing in this policy excludes or restricts rights that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law. If any provision is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
